Thanks to Marie O’Hara, we learned that the MCPS elementary school art show is on display at the Montgomery Mall until May 12th. Here are some photos of the RHES display:
Thank you to our RHES teachers and staff for all you do! We appreciate you!
Monday the teachers are treated to a hot breakfast; Tuesday is lunch from Little Miner Tacos; Wednesday is Captain Cookie Truck; Thursday is Astro Doughnuts in the morning and Happy Hour at Urban Winery in the evening; and Friday teachers can make their own bouquets from the Calluna Flower Truck.
There will be a total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. The PTA will purchase eclipse-viewing glasses for our school!
Teachers will review and emphasize the importance of keeping the safety viewing glasses on while outside during the eclipse (about 2-4pm in our area), before taking their classes outside during a time that suits their schedule. Please let your child’s teacher know ASAP if you would like to opt your child out of this activity. They will be provided alternate resources to learn about/observe the eclipse indoors.
Is your child starting Kindergarten in the fall and looking to make some new friends before the first day of school? Head to the RHES Playground from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Sunday, August 18th to meet other families with incoming kindergarteners. Bring your own water and snacks, and get ready for a great school year! The gym door will be open for access to the bathrooms.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email president@rhpspta.org.
The PTA Back-to-School Supply Sale is closed for the year. We’ll be back with supplies in June 2025!
Please join us Friday, June 2nd, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm for the PTA’s End-of-Year Picnic! The outdoor dance party will start promptly at 5:00 pm on the blacktop next to the RHES playground. Bring your picnic blanket and dinner OR purchase from Hardy’s BBQ food truck and Happy Hippos Shaved Ice. We can’t wait to see everyone there!

Finally, we hope to see everyone at our Community Social at Denizen’s (Lower Tap Room) on Friday, April 28th from 5:30 to 7:30 to honor our wonderful teachers and staff. There will be free food and drink while it lasts, so please come out to mix and mingle with RHES teachers and caregivers. A big thank you to the Vale family for sponsoring this event.

Complete the rest of your order and enjoy!
Please join us on Tuesday, March 7th from 7:00-8:00 pm via Zoom, for a short discussion of general PTA business (and vote on our updated budget, incorporating the Rhino Fund increase in teacher instructional support stipends), to be followed by a presentation by RHES administration on 504 plans, IEPs, and other instructional supports available at Rosemary Hills. The meeting link will be posted to our Calendar. All are welcome to attend, regardless of PTA membership status.
Get ready for the Scholastic Book Fair! The Book Fair will take place between February 27 and March 3, 2023. During that week, all of the Rosemary Hills students will visit the Book Fair with their class and will be able to select a free book through the Books for All program!
The Books for All Program, which provides one free book for each of the approximately 580 Rosemary Hills students, was a huge success last year, and we hope to make it a success again this year. Making the Books for All program a success relies on donations from Rosemary Hills caregivers and the community. Last year we were able to raise over $1,500 from Rosemary Hills families to support our effort! Any amount that you can donate to this program is very much appreciated—a $15 donation funds two free books. If you would like to donate, please visit http://bit.ly/3YC9xPt, which will take you to the “Books for All eWallet,” where you can make your donation. Please note, that while the “Books for All eWallet” says Kindergarten, it will be used for all students.
In addition to picking out a free book, students can also purchase additional books at the Fair using cash or a digital eWallet, which caregivers can set up before their students’ scheduled visit. eWallet is a non-refundable, digital payment account that allows for cash-free purchases. Visit the Rosemary Hills BookFair homepage at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/rhpsbookfair to learn more about, and set up, an eWallet for your student(s). If you have any questions about the BookFair, please reach out to rhesbookfair2023@gmail.com.
Volunteers Needed: If you love books, love time in the school, or just want to help out, please sign-up today to volunteer at the Book Fair. There are lots of open slots. Sign-up here! If you are interested in volunteering when your child comes in, email rhesbookfair2023@gmail.com.
